Blog vs journalism

So much talk about the blog being the new media. The conventional journalists working in the mainstream journalism are sent the jitters that they might be out of favour sooner or later. Is that so?
Well, journalism is a profession. Not any Tom, Dick or Harry can be a good journalist. Of course, anyone with the flair for writing has no problem in joining in the fraternity of journalism but just observe how many can stay long in the job.
Bloggers need not be journalists. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can blog. We can see how some bloggers just simply pen in what's beating in their hearts. Some use it to vent their anger, frustration, or simply post a soliloquy.
A true journalist cannot be upseated by any blogger who seek cheap fame or publicity.
